Baltic Energy Areas\u00a0\u2013\u00a0A Planning Perspective<\/span><\/h2><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Project activities:\u00a0<\/strong>In the project, 11 partners from eight countries around the Baltic Sea cooperate to support the transition towards low-carbon energy systems.<\/p>\n

BEA-APP brings together two perspectives: spatial planning as well as regional energy policy. The project aims at increasing the capacity of regional and renewable energy planning actors by:
\n\u2013 Providing adjusted\u00a0spatial planning instruments targeting renewable energy development<\/a>;
\n\u2013 Developing innovative\u00a0stakeholder involvement methods and financing systems to increase social acceptance<\/a>\u00a0through local ownership;
\n\u2013 Applying the developed measures to\u00a0pilot cases<\/a>, studying the features of suitable renewable energy production sites and, thereby, setting the scene for concrete projects.<\/p>\n

BEA-APP is a flagship project under the\u00a0EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region (EUSBSR).<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>
