RESINDUSTRY<\/span><\/h1><\/div>Policies for Renewable Energy Sources in industry <\/span><\/h2><\/div><\/div><\/div>Project activities:\u00a0<\/strong>The project seeks for possible improvements for local policies for renewable energy sources in industry to achieve 1) sustainable and low-carbon economic growth<\/strong> – decouple economic growth from increasing resources use. 2) more energy- and resource-efficient industrial sector<\/strong> – increasing local electricity production and on-site consumption is one of the key elements in decarbonisation of industry sector (as primary energy component in Estonian electricity mix is high, 3) applying RES to industry sector <\/strong>– reducing the use of fossil energy should be promoted – increasing the competitiveness of enterprises, stimulating eco-innovation and contributing to economic growth in the long-term.<\/p>\nWith all of that competitiveness of industry sector most not be reduced. Fortunately, many existing RE technologies are proven to be effective, but introducing and reinforcing new RES technologies is important.<\/p>\n
We have had good support in Estonia for transitioning district heating to renewable energy and improving efficiency. The resource efficiency measure for industry has been the next good step in improving efficiency and the transition to renewable energy. Our goal is to continue and further develop that direction by promoting national and international cooperation between the Parties.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

- 83 policy learning events<\/li>\n
- Collection of 10 best practices<\/li>\n
- 7 regional assessments with strategic analysis of RES technologies for regional industry<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>
