Regional Policies Towards GREEN Buildings

Project activities: Each partner region compiled a self-assessment report focusing on energy efficiency and the use of renewable energy in buildings. Similarly, regional implementation plans were drawn up in relation to the implementation of knowledge gained through co-operation with a local/regional strategy. Also, a strategic recommendation paper was drafted, focusing on the promotion of the construction sector through energy efficiency and renewable energy.

The project also developed a system of green building metrics to help regions to monitor and implement strategies and activities written in regional deployment plans.

The Green Building Procurement Innovation Strategy was developed to encourage local and regional administrations to set examples in implementing energy-efficient measures in public buildings. Each partner region shared their good examples of energy efficiency and green building.

The project was supported by the interregional cooperation programme Interreg IVC.

Project duration: 2012−2014

Project aims: Helping regions to improve, develop and implement energy efficiency strategies and the use of renewable energy as means of contributing to the development of green areas.
